Welcome! I'm Brig

...pronounced like “bridge.”

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Dance/Movement Therapist.

I have extensive experience supporting survivors of complex and developmental trauma, including domestic violence, childhood abuse and neglect, sexual and gender-based violence, grief, and traumatic loss.

I also work with people navigating life transitions, loss and change, self-worth and body-worth challenges, parenthood and perinatal experiences, and the impacts of living within oppressive systems.

I believe we are better able to move through the hard stuff in life when we are in authentic, compassionate connection — to ourselves, to one another, and to the greater world.

All of you is welcome. You get to bring your whole, complicated, messy, stunning self.

“Grief astronomer, adjust the lens, look close.
Tell us what you see.”

My Practice

My approach draws from relational, somatic, creative arts, self-compassion, and mindfulness-based modalities. As a single parent, a queer person who came out later in life, and someone who continues to shed old patterns and navigate my own
experiences of trauma,

I bring my genuineness, lived experience and specialized professional training. Together, through a sincere and nonjudgemental therapeutic relationship, we create space for you to become curious and reconnect with your inner
knowing.

I recognize that I practice within a mental health system that is inherently flawed, racist, and colonial. My approach is grounded in justice and liberation frameworks. I am committed to continually examining my own privileges, challenging harmful systems,
and unlearning the violence that we are all swimming in.
I have a passionate curiosity for what happens when we turn towards and make space for the dark.

I find beauty and awe in the complexity of our human experience. I have witnessed how, within safe and authentic connection, we can grow our capacity to hold deeply complex experiences — grief and gratitude, fear and courage, anger and
tenderness.

About Me

Outside of my therapist role, I’m a dancer, mover, and creator. I love soaking up mountain sunshine, taking road trips, and getting muddy with my kids on camping adventures that never fail to be both SO challenging and SO sweet.I’m a bookworm, lifelong learner, and I delight in letting my inner rebel shine.

My hope is that therapy can help you reconnect to and nourish the wisdom already within you — seeding the growth to make the shifts that allow for more peace, connection and aliveness. Through the radical act of connecting deeply with yourself, we are all better able to move towards liberation.
